I just finished writing a very elaborate white-paper about effective communication strategy for sustainability advocates (to be released in the coming weeks). In it, as usual, I challenge the reader to deeply understand the different worldview lenses that people use to make sense of communications and to cater their messages accordingly.
However, now mentally exhausted by several hours of intense scientific psychobabble, I find myself wishing that we could just simplify the whole process and do it like Bob Newhart does in this infamous skit.
Who knows? It might even work once in awhile…

Wayne Dyer’s affect on me was similar. Speaking to a client who had a serious habit of biting her nails til bloody, his advice: “you’re going to have to keep your hands out of your mouth.” STOP IT!
