The mind is like a cell

I’ve long considered the  human mind to be a lot like a cell–> it has a powerful, raw experiential nucleus surrounded by layers of beliefs and attitudes which act as selectively permeable membranes that filter what information gets in and out.
From this point of view, what we call ‘cynicism’ is comparable to the hardening of mental membranes [...]

Cynicism is undigested pain

As humans, Joy is our only calling, our only inalienable birthright. Everything else is up for grabs, but joy isn’t. As humans we were not made to spend lives in longing. We have chosen exactly that which we feel we need in every moment. And when we finally admit this we become grateful in ways that no jaded mindplay can destroy. Ever.
